In 2009, Limerick Food Partnership supported 6 community-based groups to provide healthy meals to over 1000 children in 9 primary schools in the city each day. The Food Partnership also administered the Department of Social and Family Affairs’ Bun and Milk Scheme which saw buns and/or milk being provided on a daily basis to 1640 children in 19 primary schools. 7 Meals for the Elderly Projects, which in total prepared almost 400 meals a day, were also supported by the Food Partnership.
