Equality

The PAUL Partnership Equality Sub-Group aims to promote equality under the nine grounds covered by Equality legislation – Gender, Marital Status, Family Status, Sexual Orientation, Religious Belief, Age, Disability, Race, and Membership of the Travelling Community. 

Key actions in 2007 included the allocation of funding to three community groups to implement different equality initiatives. The funding was used to by one group to deliver equality employment training, and by another group who work with new immigrant communities to develop a work plan. The third group to receive funding was a LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered) Support Group who used the funding to develop a youth group. Funding was also allocated to Limerick Riverfest International Barbeque Competition which aimed to promote integration between immigrant and local communities in Limerick.
